Te Uri Dance.
Mr and Mrs Dampney gave a very iQlly dance in tbeir woolshed at Te Uri to celebrate the coming of age of Horace, Mr and Mrs Dampney's only son. Mrs Dampney recelved her guests wearing a very pretty frock of wine coloured sand crepe. The. woolshed was beautifiilly decorated with punga ferns and hydrangeas of varjous shades, making . a pretty setting for the many beautiful frocks worn. Mr Gordon Dazzler, in a witty. speech, asked the' guest of the evening to accept on behalf of the Te Uri settlers, a leather suitcase. Mr Dampney suitably responded. A special feature of the evening was the cutting of the beautiful birthday cake. Mr Te Tau's orchestra provided excellent music, and the dance . was brought to an end during the early hours of the morning, Southern H.B. Tennis. j On Sunday the Pongaroa tennis j team visited the Waione courts and 1 played a retum match. The weather was very windy, but neverfheless some splendid sets swere witnessed, and the Waione team were victorious by 13 sets i t0 ii.
