WANGANUI, Last night* As a resuit of the car he was driving falling approximately 80 feet over a bank . on the Parapara Toad, . George Carruthers, a married man aged 35, fanner, of Tauhue, Te Awamutu, wai killed on Saturday night. The aceident occurred shortly after midnight. Deeeased was driving from his farm to join his wife and two chil* dren who had been holidaying with Mrs. Carruthers' parents at MakiriMri, near Wanganui. When approaching Otoko Pa, about 28 miles from the city, Mr. Carruthers drove to the ex* treme outside edge of the road to allow •another vehicle to pass. Appaxently, he drove too far and the car crashed over the bank, the. driver suffered • broken neek.
