Maori Struck by Passing Car

ROTORUA, Last night. Fatal injuries were received by an. elderly native, Niheta Pene Nara, of Roto Kawa, when he waa struck by a motor vebicle at 1L50 »n Saturday night. He was proceeding on foot to his home on the main Tauranga-Roto-rua highway, and was about one and and a-half miles from Rotorua. He euffered extensive injuries which included a fractured skull, concussion and a broken leg. Although he was immediately rushed to the hospitai, he Buceumbed to his injuries a short while after admisSion. An inquest was opened to-day before the Coroner, Mr. W. L.
