Mr E. L. Cullen, M.P., leaves Hastings to-morrow morning for Wairoa. He will be absent nntil Saturday. The Rev. E. M. Cowie, vicar of Khandallah, Wellington, and formerly Archdeacon of Waikato, who has been seriously ill, is reported to be progressing favourably. Mr W. K. Dallas, assistant-Director of Horticulture, who has been on a visit to Hastings and other parts of Hawke's Bay, left this morning for Masterton, en route to Wellington.

Sen.-Sergeant G. Sivyer} ©fficer-in-charge of the Hastings Police Force, accompanied by Mrs Sivyer, left this morning for Wellington on annual leave. Mr A. W. McNicholl, at one time well-known in Napier as New Zealand inspector for the Union Bank of Australia, and now general manager of tbb bank, is in Napier. Mr McNicholl is at present on a tour of the Dominion. Mr and Mrs W. J. Cottle, of Melbourne, who have been visiting their son, Mr H. L. Cottle, of Hastings, left this morning for Wellington en route hom© again. Accompanying them on their visit to New Zealand is a daugjhter of Mrs T. Scully, of Melbourne, and a grand-daughter of M'lnss Lv ' Scully. Mr A. L. Willis, postmaster at Rotorua, will leave this week for Dunedin, where he will be assistant-chief postmaster. Th© vacancy in Rotorua will be^filled by Mr F. W. Dingwall, at present postmaster at Te Aroha. Mr E. H. Tyler, chief clerk and accountant at Rotorua, has been pi'omoted to • tbe post of assistant-accountant at Hamilton, The Rishop of Aotearoa, the Rt Rev. F. A. Bennett, will leave to-mor-row on a visit to the Bay of Plenty, Auckland and Rotorua districts. On this tour he will unveil a memorial window in the church at Otamutu to commemorate the fine work done by the Rev. Seymour M. Spencer, the first missioner in that district. Later Mr Bennett will visit the northern part of the island to attend a synod of the Maori clergy and laymen of the Bishopric of Kaikohe. A visit will also be paid to Wanganui, where Mr Bennett will conduet services in a unique Maori church.
