Carnival Week Attraction The ntain attraction of the Wairoa Garnival this week will be the annual ' meeting of the Wairoa County Racing Club, which will be held on the Te Ku- j pengsa racecourse. The carnival opena , with the A, and P. annual show on Wednesday. The raees eome up for decision on Thursday and Saturday,
while on Friday, the day between the two race days, a big sports meeting will be held on Mr A. T. (Tui) Carroll's Haramua Station, JBvery evening • there will be the riverside carnivals and dances as well as other attraction s, such as a visit to Morere. The Wairoa County Racing Club is a very old sporting body, going baek many yeai's, but it ig doubtful if ever the acceptances have reached those.,. the acceptances have equalled those received for this week's gathring. Also the class of horse that will be saddled up is of better quality than seen on more important race courses, including winneys at recent holiday jneetings at Auckland, Wellington, Manawatu, Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay. The accommodation is being booked ,up rapidly and all the hotels are now full up, but the Racing Club, as well as the A and R, Society, are niakmg arrangiements whereas accommodation for all will be avajlable and that there will not be the necessity of eleeping on the river bank. A very lai'ge liumher of visitors from this portion of thq Hawke's Ray district will be present, as well as the big annual quota froin Poverty Bay and East Coast.
