Building permits to the vaiua of £9018 15/6 have been issued by the Napier building inspeetor, Mr E. Grant, auring the naonth, compared ivitli permits to the value of £3051 for the same morLth of 1936. In all 11 permits have been issued this month, seven for new dwellings of a total value of £6971; two fOr alterations involving an expendituie of £350; oue for a new bioek of flats, £1500; and oue for additions to the Port Ahuriri Primary School, £1197 15/6.
