WAIPUKURAU. Tbis Day. Charged with operating a beavy ! inotor vekicle carrying a greater load 1 than it was licensed for, James Herron, carrier,- of Wellington, was fined h2 10/- and costs 10/-. Accused sent a letter saying that he was carrying a ioad of perishable fruit (banauas) which were already somewhat overnpe. In reply to tfie iiench, Mr Yates said he could not agree that the fruit was overripe, as it had to be put into a warin room to ripen when it arxived in Waipawa. He said the accused had been convieted of traffic breaches before.
