The Australiaif amateur golf champion, Jim Ferrier, was involved in a motor accident in Sydney recently, but esCaped unscathed. * * * * Percy Alliss, British Ryder Cup golfer, broke the course record with a brilliant round of 66 in the recent 36 holes meeting of the Leeds and District Union at the Leeds Club, Cobble round. * * * * Pauling Fit Again. T. Pauling, a member of the Australian Rugby team which toured New Zealand last season, must have recovered from the effects of the severe concussion he sustained in the first test match at Wellington. Recently he participated in the New South Wales amateur athletic championships. He filled third place in the discus throw event with a good •ffort of 128ft. liin.
