General Rise in Values ' The Ne.w Zealand Loan and Mercantlle Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cabi© from their London house: "There is good all round competition. As eompared with last saies, closing rates. and prices are higher, par jbo jlid 1b. super greasy Merino and scourea super Merino; higher Jd to Id per lb. for greasy medium Merino and greasy inferior Merino; higher ld to 1^ per lb. for scoured medium Merino, greasy crossbred and scoured inferior Merino; higher 2d to 2|d per lb. for scoured crossbred, medium crossbred slipe and fine crossbred slipe; higher 2^d to 3d per lb. for crossbred slipe ; higher li to 2d per lb for Merino and crossbred lambs. The saies ciosed tirmly to-day." Murray Roberts and Co. Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house.— "The saies have ciosed with a good tone. Competition was general. Since last advices competition has improved. Compared with the last London saies closing rates are as follows : — Greasy Merino, best descriptions, par to 5 per cent advance; wool, suitable for Yorkshire, market shows no change; wool, suitable for the Continent, advanced 6 per cent; scoured Merino best par to 5 per Cent advance; scoured Merino, other descriptions, advanced 5 per cent to 10 per cent; crossbred greasy coqaeback, advonced 5 per cent to 7i per cent; crossbred greasy fine, advanced 5 per cent to 7i per cent; crossbred greasy medium, advanced 5 per cent to 7i per cent; crossbred coarse, advanced^ 10 per cent to 15 per cent. Spinners' styles show the greatest advance ; crossbred scoured, advanced 10 per cent; and slipe crossbred, advanced 10 per cent."
