It recounts the uproarious experiences of a renegade male and his woman-hating, 11-year-old son who are marooned in a mountain resovt in the company of a lovely lady who believes men are not only annoying but totally unnecessary, Also present is the woman's 9-year-old daughter, a fiery brat who is more spirited than her mother in her aversion to the male speeics. Against their will, Astor and Douglas. discover themselves i'alling in love. Aithough they can't help themselves, their children determine to end tlie romance. Aniusing situatioas continue to ' develop as the children do everything in their power to achieve - this end -Nothing happens until . Douglas by accident happens to ' give Mary's young daughter a sound spanking. Furious, Mary breaks the engagement. From there on "And So They Were Married" -swirls in a series of hilarious episodes to a laugh-filled cliniax. Elliott Nugent directed from the scieen story by A. Laurie Brazee Dor is Anderson and Joseph Anthony.
