Mr Dove stated that in Dunedin applications were first placed before the honorary medical staff and then considered by a conimittee including representatives of the University Council and Hospital Board, Mr Gordon Bell, professor of surgery, Dr. Carmalt Jones, professor Of medicine, Dr. Dawbbn, professor of gynaecOlogy, and Dr. Carswell, head of the ophthalmi© .department. Mr Dove stated that if the system elsewhere was as represented by Sir Newton the Otago board entirely diseociated itself from such.
