(Received 29, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON,' Jan. 28. • 'Within 12 months of the reoccupation of the Rhineland the reinilitarisktion of Germany's western frontier is almost complete," states the 4 ' Manchester Guardian 's " diploinatic correspondent. ' ' This hUge fortilied girdle, in the opinion of experts, can be held with smail forces against the entire French ahd Belgian armies, enabling any main offensive to be conducted elsewhere. "It .does not follow that Germany has abandoned the idea of a major offensive westward, but the immediate plan seems to be eastward expansion." A. Oonservative M.P., Mr O. Simmonds, speaking in the House of Commons, described the figures of Germany's air armaments as astronomical compared with Britain's. Germany had 150 service aerodromes each with a hundred warplanes and probably possessed a further 150 first-elass aircraft.
