Leahy, who has been transferred to Christchurch. The Rev. D. Ji A. Shaw, minister of Bt. Andrew's Church, returned to Hastings last night after spending his annual holiday in the Auckland district. He was accompanied by Mrs and Mis* Shaw. > Sir William Hunt has retui'ned to Wellington from Invercargill. He spent the week-end with his son, who is making a gpod recovery from the injuries he received in the aeroplane accident at Big Bay reeently. Mr Lauehlan McEinnonj Christ' church, who is on an extended visit to the North lsland, returned to Napier on 'Wednesday after a fortnight 's visit to Hotel Spa, Taupo. He will visit various distriets before returning to Taupo at the end of February for the remainder of the fishing season. Mr F. R. Hodge, who has been associated with the "Hawke's Bay Herald" and latterly the "Hawke'g Bay Tribune" for the past 25 yeare, and who has been appointed to the literary statt' of the "New Zealand Herald," leaves by this evening's traiil for Auckland. Prior to his departure he was met and on behalf of his fellow employees presented with a token of fche esteem in which he is univeraally held by those associated with him. Good wishes were expressed for his futui'e success in his netv sphere of employment.
