Porangahau Sports Draws Many Competitors LARGER ATTENDANCE

| WAIPUKURAU, This Day. ! Byilliant suD&hine marked the Poran- ! gahau Sports Club's annual meeting lield on tlio sports grounds at Porangahau yesteiday. The meeting was an outstandmg suecess from every point of view, there being a larger attendance and ljetter entries tlian last year. Competitors were present from all parts of the district. ! The seeretary, Mr W. Snelling, is to j be congratulated on the capable manner in whiek he carried out his duties. | The horse events were up to the usual | standard, with larger entries. Some ex- ! I cellent jumping was seen. All the judges' deeisions wero popularly reeeived, D. Redstone, R. Ross and Nelson were the winners in the boys' wrestling. The Rev. Moana was the referee. In the golf-approaeh competition B. Stoddart won the men's section and Mrs L. Ropiha the women 's. Mr E. J. White gave the sheep for the. sheep-guessing competition, won by Mr S. Board.
