KENNEL ASSOCIATION

Annual General Meeting Held The annual general meeting of the Hawke's Bay Kennel Association was held in the Fxiendly Society Hall, Hastings, last evening. The president, Mr J. B. Wainscott, gave a brief resume of the year's working as published in the annual report and balance-sheet, both of which were adopted. The election of officers fof the ensuing« year resulted as follows : — Patron, Mr J. Hr McNiven; president, Mr J. B. -Wainscott; vice-presidents, Mr Briggs, Mr Hilliker, Mr Morrin, Mr S. W. Baker; hon. secretary, Mr J. A. Townsend ; bon. treasurer, Mr T.J obey ; ' hon. auditor, Mr A. M. Retemeyer; hon! veterinary surgeons, Mr Brodie, M.R.C.V.S. and* Mr Elphick, M.R.C.V.S. ; executive committee, Mesdames Haines, Hill, Duff, Jobey, Messrs Hilliker, Davies, Crawford, Green, Hill, Howell, Sinclair, Bunker and Davey. Before the cominencement of business all members stood in sileuce as a mark oi respect to the memory of two* life members ,of th'e association, Mr J. Parker and Mr C. Davis, who have died. * lt was decided to place on reoord the splendid work done by Mr D. T. Sinclair, of Napier, the association's representative on the executive of "the .New Zeaiand Kennel Club and, also the work ,of Mr F. Hilliker, iu. his duties as. show marshal. The ladies' committee was included in the motion for the manner in which it had attended to the edcial side of the. association's activities. It was cou- - sidered that the arrangements made by the ladies excelled those of previous years, and visitiqg exhibitore were very impressed with this side of the club's workings.
