Urgent Need of Assistance REQUEST TO GOVERNMENT - - - - ^ Following on tlie Government decidiug to fix the Government guarantee on export fruit 3t 10/6 a case, the New Zealand Fruit Control Board has forwarded the following resolution to the Government : "That the Government be thanked for th© guarantee of 10/5 per case for export fruit. "That in connection with the gnarantep. for future years the Governinent be asked to set up a small committee with which the Board will be glad to be co-opted for the purpose of Teaching finality on the average cost of production. "That the scale of wages and the conditions relating thereto, associated vvith the 1937 guarantee, the board be given an opportunity of conferring with the Minister before theee are Gazetted. "Further, that the Government be advised that the local market is urgentfy in need of assistance as grpwers for this market will be paying the increased wages in incurring the generally increased costs."
