DRAWING-ROOM WEDDING CELEBRATED IN NAPIER
NEWELL— WOOSTER At 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, at the residence of Mr C. H. Hyett, t Selwyn road, Napier, the> marriage took : place oi Gladys Elizabeth, eldest | daughter of the late Mr and Mrs ,I\ E. Wooster, of Napier, and William. Balph, son of Mr and Mrs W. Newell, of Auckland. Adjutant Neeve, of the Napier SalvaI tion Arrny, performed the ceremony in , the drawing-room, which was tastefully | decorated with bowls of phlos and ' roses. j The bride, u'ho was given away by ' Mr C. H. Hyett, wore a model froek of biscuit suede crepe cut on modern lines. A blue corsage spray and shoes toned. Her hat was of pastel pink straw and she earried a bouquet of delphiniums, cream gladioli and maidenhair fern, Attending the bride was Miss Myrtle Hyett, who was daintily frocked in powder blue suede crepe worn with a picture hat to tonej her bouquet was aomposed of pale pink gladioli arranged with fern. The duties of best man were earried >ut by Mr Charles Jackson, of Hast'ngs. x Huring the ceremony the hyrnn^ "We s'ray Thee, Lord" and "The Voice that Hreathed O'er Eden" were sung, Miss ! Elsie Eitzwater presiding at the piano. Miss Hyett acted as hostess and re- ' ceived the guests, forty of whom were present. After the ceremony, all the usual oa/sts -were honoured at the wedding Lea which was served at tables set on Hie spacious verandah decorated with jink and blue hydrangeas and hanging baskets of fern. On the tea tables vases of carnations and sweet peas made a pleasing decoration. Miss Hyett wore a navy silk floral frock with smart hat to tone and earried a posy of flowers in blue and pink shadings. Mrs J. Darrack, sister of the bride, wore a navy flqral silk marocain xroch with a honey-coloured hat and earried y posy to tone. The bride and bfiddegroom left later for a holiday in the South, Mrs Newell travelling in a smart ensemble of marina blue silk with pink crepe-de-chine blouse. Hat and accessories were in blue. Mr and Mrs Newell will malce their home in Auckland. Many choice wedding gifts were received, among. them being a diuner service presented at a recent soeial evening given by members of the Salvation Army in Napier.
