CAPSIZE OF LORRY
Negligent Driving on NapierClive Road David Vivian Isdale, 1 of Tomoana, pleaded guilty to uegligent driving on the Napier-Clive road, and was fined £1, with 15/- costs by Mr J. Miller, S.M., in the Napier Magistrate's Court yesterday. The conviction was a sequel to the capsizing of a lorry driven by defendant, two passengers being injured. Senior-Sergeant W. Pender said that the defendant drove the lorry off the road on to the grass and pulled out again so suddenly that the lorry capsized. There was no suggestion of drunkenness in the case, and defendant had given as an excuSe that he was dazzled by the lights of an approaehingvvehicle although it was almost 300 yards distant.
