«By Telusrr&oh
INVERCARGILL, Jan. 25. A further adjournment until Thursday was granted by Mr. W. H. Fieetoan, S.M., this morning in the bank shooting case of December 27, which resulted in the death of Michael Fletcher. Mr. Horace Macalister, for the Crown, asked for a remand until a suitable date. Mr. Eustaee Russell asked that the case should be adjourned until Friday week, as a medieal witness was absent on holiday. He had only one holiday a year, and it would scarcely be fair to bring him back. The Magistrate said that he himself had been having his only holiday in 20 months and had returned from the North Island specialiy for the case in view of an S.O.S. in the newspapers. It was only a hop, step and jump from Queenstown, and the doctor could j caaily corrie down for a day. He refused counsel's request for a lengthy adjournment and set the hearing down i'or Thursday.
