TRIPS TO THE CAPE
Large Number of Visitors At Week-End Cape Kidnappers was well patronised during the week-end, when two excursion partifs made the trip from Hastings and Napier. On Saturday a party of 70 Wellington visitors went round to the Cape during the morning, the' weather being ideal. t)n Sunday a party of 118 xesidents of Napier and Hastings, augmented by visitors from Auckland, Wellington, Australia and England, visited Cape Kidnappers* The weather was fine except for. • wind during the morning. The sea w&s moderate, and, - the beaeh beittg thorough ly safe, a great defil of sea bathing was indulged in. A prpc&ution freqnently overlooked - on these excursions by visitore is the wearing of suitable apparel, Mr Stanley, the ranger at tbe Cape, pointed out, in conversation with a reporter, that sand shoes were the, first essential, and mentioned the case of two women from Wellington who made the journey in high-heeled shoes and had to retura barefooted.
