To seize it as an opportunity means bracing oneself up for action, decision, bite, endeavour. Action is the flnest narcotic for grief and bereavement ; action dispols lftssitude, and action resolves into their true proportions the petty irritations which disturb the even tenor of all our lives. This means not vague resolutions, but instant occupation, not irresolute hopes but intent purpose, not languid aspirations but ready service, not ' Time will tell,' but ' 1 will tell Time.' Is this an encouragement to impetuosity? Perhaps. Error there must be. But the errors of impetuosity are far less serious than tbe errors of eaution and indolence and the enervating paralysis of proerastination.
