GIFT PARTY FOR BRIDE HELD AT NORSEWOOD
A gift evening tendered to Miss Jean (Puggy) Hansen in the Institute Hall. under the auspices of the Norsewood Vvromen's Institute, was a pronounced success. The space for dancing was fully taxed, and tlie seating accommodation was inadequate. Mr R. Armstrong capably controlled the evening and splendid music was supplied by Mr W. Te Tau. Mr L. G. Bennett, of Palmerston North, added to the pleasure of the evening by playing several extras on liis piano-accordeon, and Mr K. Staiger also contributed a much appreciated extra on the piano. During the evening, Miss S. Coady very cleverly played two violin solos with Madame Lehmann accompanying her on the piano. Both items received Well deserved encores. After a dainty supper, Mx: H. A. Olsen, on behalf of the Women' t Institute, wished IVIiss llansen and Mr Stubbs the very best •in the futnre, and asaed them to open the large assortment of parcels, which were placed on ta'bles in readiness. This was done amidst applause, and, when completed, disclosed a beautiful collection of kitchen and- other gifts. Mr Stubbs, on behalf of Miss Hansen and himself, thanked the Women's Institute for -their kindness in giving them such an enjoyable evening, and also all the donors for their very acceptable and oeautiful gifts. He hoped that some day they would have the pleasure of entertaining many of their Norsewood friends at their home at Takapau. 1
