SYDNEY, Jam. 21. At the Rosehill races the former New Zealand jockey, Maurice McCarten. rode three winners, including Picamar and Lady Pola, the winners of both divisions of the Juvenile Handicap. McCarten remains the outstanding rider of two-year-old-s in Sydney. Results included:— FLYING HANDICAP. KING'S HEAD, 9.7 (Bartle) .... 1 The Marne, 9.2 (Cook) 2 Silver Rose, 7.6 (O'Sullivan) .... 3 Seventeen started, including Silver Coat. The Marne was first past the post. but the race was awarded to King'fl Head on a protest. The distances wero a short head and a length. Time, 1.13}. Cook, the rider of The Marne, was suspended for a month for careless riding. ROSEHILL HANDICAP FRIAR'S SWITCH, 7.6 (W. Cook) 3 Hope, 8.2 (K- Cook) 2 Jovial Son, 8.0 (Parsons) * Brazeno, 6.1Q (White) ....... .1. '.. . * ' * *Dead-heat for third. -Nine started, including Hands Up. Won by iwo lengths; a length. Time, 2.6. CARLINGFORD MILE MANANUI, 9.6 (McCarten) 1 Autoland, 9.3 (Browne) .......... 2 Cognac, 8.7 (Shean) 3 Six started, including Retrieved. Won by 1} lengths; two lengths. Time, 1.41. Red Clover and Odilion were unplaced in the Maiden Handicap, and Riposte, Bengal Lancer, Jubilee Singer and Sir Regent unplaced in the Trial Stakes.
