Gold Boa. ■winner of tlio Teiegraph Handicap at Trentham, is the find of the season as f ar as sprinters are concerned. She is by Balboa — Mark Off, by Markhopo (imp.)— Officious, by Finland — Busybody, a daughiter of Apremont and Whisper's .dam, Tell Tale. m * * According to a Wellington exchange the Heroic — Prodice yearling colt, an entry for the National Saies, was not sent down from To Awamutu. He is said, nevertheless, to bo a very fme individual. * # • It transpires that the^ brood maro Prestige, full-sister to BLonour, whieh was sold at the dispersal sale of the Westmere stud on Wednesday, topping the priees for brood mares, was purchased by Mr. Brank Ormond, not J. D. Ormond, as telegraphed. • « • Mulatto is certainly a very apt name for a filly by Nigger Minstrel from Silver Grey, an Australian bred mare imported as a yearling by Mr T. H. Lowry, but a failure on the racing track. Mulatto is a stable-mate of Haughty Winner, who, at his first start, was successful in the two-year-old Bitzherbert Handicap on Wednesday., Mulatto being among the "also started," as she was again yestorday in the IS'ursery Handicap.
