Furthermore, New Zealand occupies the fourth place among the world 's wool producers, maintains as many sheep per acre as Great Britain, and has the highest per caput external trade in the world. This achievement has been carried out by a population that has only very reeently reached 1,500,000 and which has been confronted with some very seriaus nutural handicaps. Mr. F. R.
