FREEZING DISPUTE All-Day Conference Yesterday RESUMPTI0N TO-DAY

WELLINGTON, Jan. 21. After nearly twelve hours' dis- • cussion on the conditions arising from the receut stay-in strike at Auckland, the special conference at Parliament House to-day failed to-reach an agreement. It was deeidedj at a late hour, to adjourn until the morning in order to receive a report from a special committee set up to consider the finai points. Some 50 delegates, xepresenting all employers and workers in the industry throughout New Zealand, attended. The Government was represented by the Minister of Labour and the Minister of Agriculture. The conference oepned at 10*30 a.m. and was continued throughout the day and evening. There were protracted discussions upon the contenticus questions of labourers' wages in freezing works and the number of operatives on the chain system.
