AUCKLAND, Jan. 21. K While fishing from the Orakei Bridge with other children, Norman Bichardsan, aged 12, fell from the bridge railing' and was carried out by the strong tide into the harbour. He was imable to swim but k-ept afloat by paddling. TJnsuccessful efforts vr«ere made by his companions to throw a rope. The screams of the children attracted the attention of a woman, who waved a passing motorist, Mr L W, T. Parlby, employec of the Transport Board, who threw off his coat and diyed from the bridge and, being a •trong swinimer, was able to rescue the hoy, who reapoftded to fesuscitafcion and wa* driven hcma.
