Many Farmers Fined in Napier Failure on the part of many farmers to register their dogs resplted • in 12 prosecutions being brpught befpre Mr. J. Miller, S.M., in the Napier Magistrate's Conrt yesterday at the instigation of Mr, J. F, Scarrott, dqgtax coUector, of Bay View, Fines of 10/- with costs and disbursements of yarious amounts, were ,'mposed upon the following Mrs. P. Thomason (Havelock North). Miss M. Jury (Bridge Pa), Walter Jury (Haumoana), and Ruru Ripohau (Pakipaki). The following penalties were lmposed upon. defendants cbarged with the samq class of pffence; H. Puna (Clive), 5/- and costs £1 5/6 ; Mrs. R. Teuki (Clive), £1 5/6 costs only; R. Tutaki (Hastings) 2/6 and costs £1 5/6; H P. Erieksen (Papakura), 5/- ahd cosw £1 2/6. In addition to the foregoing prose cutions, seven cases were struck init. while a number could not . be deait with because summonses on defeidants bad not been served.
