Westshore Defeats The Skyrockets UNITED SHIELD SERIES The Westshore Tennis Club played its first game for the United Tennis Assoeiation 's Shield during the weekend, when itsa members met the Skyrocket club at Hastings. They gained an outright win, results being (Westshore names mentioned flrst): Combined doubles. — Mrs Stitson and G. Gale beat Mrs Hunt and S. MacDonald, 6 — 1; Miss Nodwell and R. Martin beat Miss Thompson and W. Watkinson, 6 — 4; Miss Lavery and M. Stitson lost to Miss Harding and F. Burton, 5 — 6; Miss Wilton and M. Stitson jn., beat Miss Alfexdnder and J. Barden, 6 — 2. _ Men 's doubles. — G. Gale and R. Martin beat S. MacDonaid and W. Watkinson 6 — 0; M. Stitson and M. Stitson jn. beat F. Burton and J. Barden 6—1.
