TROUBLE LIKELY Civil List Pension May Rouse Argument AWKWARD POSITION

Commenting on the necessity for a new Civil List including provision for the Duke of Windsor, the ''Manchester Guardian" expresses the opinion that it would be silly to pretend that it will not he disputed. "The country is undoubtedly prepared to give just a pension to the Duke," adds the "Guardiau," "but there cleariy is room for disagreement about what is just in the circumstances. The Civil List Bill may even prove politically awkward for the Go'vernment." The ''Guardian's" comment follows the impression that Edward, while Prince of Wales, husbanded his resources and amassed a considerable fortune.
