Mr Macmillan, who is touring New Zealand, leaves for England on the Tauiaroa on February 26. Mr. N. C. Kensington, for over seveii years Commissioner ox Crown I.ands and Chief Surveyor for Otago, has received notice of his transfer as Commissioher for Canterbuxy. Mr. Kensington was born iix Auckland and educated at Queen 's College. He was first engaged in surveying, hoiding a commission in Fiji. He joined the Lands Department in Taranaki in 1904. His first appointment as commissioner was in 1923, to Nelson. He was appointed fo Southland in 1925, and went to Dunedin in 1929.
