(To the Editor) _ Sir, — -X had, the other day, a discussion with a Britisher anent epitaphs of the world. I maintained that the best Yer€ in the Antipodes, citing Stevensons's, Capt. Oates's and one in Napier which I noted in your paper some years ago but failed -to memorise. It is on a stone to a young English lieutenant who fell in the native wars. If anyone would be sweet-tiatured enough to post it to you, I should be grateful, and, with it, knock that Britisher "galley west. " — Yours, etc.,
