BEAUTY LOTION FOR WARM DAYS
9 Oatmeal and " powdered orrisroot make a pleasant toilet powder in hot weather. Powdered orrisroot can be mixed with oatmeal, a teaspoon of Epsom salts and a pinch of borax, put into a muslin bag; it will then make your bath pleasant and reireshing. Witch hazel is very useful. It can be made into an astringent by mixing it in like quantities with rose-water and hydrogen peroxide, with two drops of spirit of camphor; or it can be made into a tonie mixed with rosewater, the proportion Jgeing one teaspoon to two tablespoons of rose-water. For oily skin it is splendid as a tonic. Calomine lotion is a good and safe bleach, and will remove discolorations; it will also remove surface blemishes. For sun -hura and all soreness of the skm it is exeellent. Another beauty point to remember is that soft soap melted over a slow fire xnakes a very good shafnpoo.
