A particularly heavy yardmg of poultry sold most satisfactorily at Messrs Gordon Walker, Ltd's. weekly market sale held on Saturday. A.nother 50 porkers would hardly have met the demands of the pig section. Values throughout were very firm on late rates. Dairy stock soid to a good market and all sundries met with keen competition. Prices realised were a° iollows : Poultry. — Table birds 2/4 to 6/8, W.L. hens 2/4 Lo 2/10 itnd 1/10 to 2/2 W.L. eels 1/10 to 3/1 (young) 1/5 to 2/4, W.L. pullets 2/6 to 4/8, B.L. hens 2/6 to 3/4, B.L. eels 2/7 to 3/8 (young) 1/11 to 3/-, B.O. pullets 2/6 to 4/6, others (hens) 1/11 to 2/7 eels.) 1/6 to 2/11 (pullets) 2/6 to 3/9, chick eels. 8d. to 1/4, ducklings 9d. to 1/2, ducks 3/10 to 6/8 per pair P'igs. — W eaners 16/- to £1 3/6 and 13/- to 17/6, slips 19/- to £1 5/6, stores £1 2/- to £l 6/—, lt. porkers £1 7/6 to £1 12/6, porkers £1 10/- to £1 18/6, heavy porkers £2 1/- to £2 7/-. Dairy Stock. — Cows £5 10 j- and £6, weaner heifer 17/6. Sundries inclutled stoves £3 to £6 5/-, four ladies' cycles £4 to £5 5/-, doors three men's cycles. £3-0/- to £5-0, 12/6 and £1 2/-, tyres" 5/- to £1, orchard ladder £1, pair boots 12/-, scparator 10/-, axe 6/-, odd timber 7/- to £1 13/6, wire 5/-, hinges 3 /-, wii'e strainer 5/-, spirit level 3/-, and further lots at full rates. Produce and fruit, sold at vendors' rates.
