CHURCH SERVICES
There will be celebrations of the Holy Communion in St. Matthew's Parish Church to-morrow, at 7 and 8 a.m. The preacher at matins will ,be Capt. H. Suteliffe, C.A. and at evensong the Rev. Kenneth Liggett. Evensong will be sung art St. James, Capt. Sutclifle, and St. Barnaba's, Mr R. Dyet. Holy Baptism,. will be administered at 3 p.m. The subject of the address in the United Hall on Sunday night will be "The Rise and Fall of the Turgish Empire As Revealed in Prophecy", when attention will be directed to the great event which the eviction of the Turk from Palestine foreshadows. Namely, the return of Christ to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. At the Baptist Chureh to-morrow morning the preacher will be Mr G. T. BeiI-( by (of the N.Z. Baptist College). The subject of his address will be "Anchored." Friends are urged not to miss this opportunity of liearing Mr Beilby. At 7 p.m. the Rev. C. B. Bdggis will conduct the evening service and his
special topic will'be "The Unpurchasable Things of Life." There is a warm invitation extended to everyone to attend this bright service. Communion will be observed at the close. The Young People 's Fellowship meets at 2.45 p.m. Both services to-morrow in the Hastings Methodist Church will be conducted by the Rev. R. B. Gosnell. The morning sbjeet will be "The Truth and Half-Truths" whilst the evening subject will be "The Power of the Mind," a talk on things mental. To these services all are invited, visitors ' being made specially welcome. The choir will be heard in the following anthems; morning, "Praised be the Lord," and evening, "The Day is'Past and Over." The preacher at St. Columba 's Presbyterian Church, Havelock North, tomorrow, will be Mr D. Neilson, of Indiaj whose subject at 11 a.m. will be "An Empire 's irreparable deficit" and at 7 p.m. "A Medieval Martyr," both addresses being based on important sacred and secular historical events. Wbere argument and philosophy fail to impress, a vivid personal experience opens or closes the life to the voice of God. All friends are invited to attend the services.
