NON-UNION WORKERS
Emplo^Ars Reminded That They Are Liable "I understand that there are a number of employers in Hawke's Bay who have employees who are not members of any uuion ' ' said Mr C. Jennings, secretary of the Hawke's Bay General Labourers' Union, in the course of an interview. He indicated the1 steps that would be taken against those who continued to evade the provisions of the Act. "The executive of the union has considered this\ question, " continued Mr Jenuiugs, "find it is now felt that the time has •come when the provisions o'f the Industrial Conciliatiou and Arbitration Act should be enforced. • "It is f felt, however," explained Mr Jenuiugs, "that some employers may be erring in ignorance, in which case tho union does not wish to take immediate action. I can now say that nonanionists will be employed only at the risk of prosecution, for it is our intentipn to notify the Inspector of Awards of any instances that come under our notice of the requirements of the law being' iarnored. It is felt that niibbcity in this matter will .eave a number of the employers from legal proceedings. "
