Major V. H. Secker, of Te Awanga, has left on a tfip to England. Mr. W. M. Will, Clerk of the Court at Hastings, commenced annual leave this morning. Lieutenant J. A. Halkett, of the First Battalion of the Hauraki Eegiment, has beCn transferred to the reserve of officers. Mr. H. G. Jones, assistant-Town Clerk of the Hastings Borough Council, commences • his annual leave on Monday. Major and Quartermaster H. S. Hfifrison, of the First Battalion of the Auckland Eegiment, has been transferred to the resei'Ve of officers. Sir James Steel-Maitland , of Havelock North, is at present touring the South Island on business, and later will spend a week Or ten days in Wellington * Major A. W. Shoft, V.D., of the Third Cadet Battalion, North Auckland Ecgimeiit, has been posted to the retired list, With permission tt> retain his rank and wear the prescribed Uniform. Mr B.
