SUICIDE BY RECLUSE
RECEIPTS FOUND ON BODY

AUCKLAND, June 19. Evidence of unexpected wealth was discovered by the police when .they examined the body of Charles Lynn Hadfield, aged 49, who was found in his shack at Coromandel recently with a wound in the throat. Hiadfield, who had settled at Ootroniaiiulol. about two and a half years previously, had lived alone. He had previously lived at Whangaroa. The body was found by a neighbour, who informed the police that Hadfield had a razor in his hand and two others were on a. chair beside bum. "When the police examined the body they found in a. small! linen bag hung about the nerk bv a string a receipt for £6OO in New Zealand Government bonds, a Post Office Savings Bank book showing a credit of nearly £SOO, several one pound notes and a tobacco l tin containing two half-sovereigns wrapped ill paper. A receipt for 10s from a solicitor for forwarding a. will was also found.
Ain inquest was held by the coroner. He found that Hadfield died from a self-inflicted razor wound.
