(From Our Own Correspondent.) EUCHRE AND DANCE SOCIAL The third of the series of fortnightly euchre parties and dances held at Matapu last Tuesday evening drew a largo attendance and a pleasant evening was spent. The ladies’ first prize was won by Aliss R-. Huckstep and the second by Airs J. F. Reid, while the winners in the men’s division were Air H. Hoskiu and Air W. Hoskin. Aliss Al. Guy played for the dance. PERSONAL Air and Mrs H. Riddick have returned home from a trip to Wellington. via AVairarapa. Air and Airs O. Bootten are spending a holiday in Wellington. Air and Airs F. Palmer are staying with friends in New Plymouth. Mr and Airs Russell Carter arc the guests of Captain and Airs Hudson, of Awatuna. Messrs C. Hales and F. AVilliams, who have been, visiting Air and Airs AV. E Carter at Hunter Road have returned to their home at Tea-tree Point, Dannevirke. Miss L. Tapp left by car on Thurs- . day for a visit to Cambridge.
