AUCKLAND HARBOUR BRIDGE
SUM OP £1,500,000 AVAILABLEHOPES OF EARLY START. (By Teles'rarJh —Wess Ass'elation.) AUCKLAND, June 10.. A highly important development in connection with the to construct a bridge across the Waifcamata Harbour is announced. This, according to the bridge company, will make an early start with the undertaking assured. The directors to-day announced that they had reeeved advice' from England that £1.500,000 wa-s ready and available' to build the bridge provided certain financial details were settled locally. During the past few days these details have been adjusted as far as N-'w Zealand is concerned. All that remains is for these details to be dualised in London and* the. company cabled tc London to-day with that end in vice 7. The directors also recorded appreciation of the services of Mr. A. Harris. M.P., in negotiating, in Wellington for sucij conditions a,s were necessary t-c enable the company to* take advantage of the offer. It has been . estimated that the bridge will provide work for 400 men for three years apart from indirect benefits*.
