WAIMATE LEADS IN SOUTH PATEA PILLS SECOND I PLACE. STRATFORD UNBEATEN IN NORTH. With a decisive 'win over Okaiawa by 17 points to nil, Waim&te completed •the first round of the South Taranaki senior Rugby competition on Saturday with a championship lead of two points over Patea, who lost by three points to nil to Kaponga. The latter now fill third position on the latter. Old Boys and Opunake had a three-point draw, and -Eltham scored its first win of the •season in beating Hawera by eight points to three. Jnl the northern division Stratford fiiaihtained its unbeaten record in defeating Celtic by 21 points to nil and has a two-point lead over Star, who beat Old Boys l by 21—12. Inglewood and Tukapa drew, there being no score.- Clifton had the bye.
