COURSING AT WHENUAKURA
PATEA-HAWERA CLUB. MEETING ON WEDNESDAY. The second meeting of the PateaHawera Coursing Club will be held at Whenua-kura on Wednesday and,Thursday, when there will be a coivjfjst for the Black and White Cup, one of the best known trophies in coursing circles on this coast. In addition there will be an open event for sixteen dogs. Nominations for both will he received up till 6 p.m. to-morrow (Tuesday) with the secretary, Mr F. J. Scott, Patea, and the draw will take place at 8 o’clock the same evening at the billiard room in Patea. - The club’s committee, under the direction of the president (Mr L. Hunt) and the secretary, have been making preparations for the season’s meetings. The course is in tip-top order and the club bus a, fine suonlv of good strong bares, which should test the best of dogs.
