MANAIA DISTRESS FUND
APPEAL FOU CLOTHES. The Manaia and Waimate West Distress Committee appeals to the public for clothes of any description for distress cases in hand and others that the committee is at present investigating. “The clothes need not be new and an article of clothing of any land, no matter whether it is patched or not, will be thankfully received,” writes Mr J. Rodie, clerk to the Manaia Town Board. ‘ ‘lf donors are unable to leave parcels of clothes at the secretary’s office, Town Hall, Manaia, and will give him a ’phone call at 19 Manaia. lie will make arrngements for the parcel to he called for. The committee hopes that everyone will do t\eir best to donate some article of clothing for absolutely needy cases that have been investigated by the committee and found to be genuine cases of distress.” Donations to the Manaia Distress Relief Fund are acknowledged as follow : W. T. Wells, one fat cow. Armitages, small goods.
