Proposals to specially illuminate the main streets of Hawera during Winter Show week were briefly discussed by the South Taranaki Power Board last evening. Mr J. R. Corrigan, chairman of the show committee, waited on the board and requested that a scheme of illuminations similar to that adopted during jubilee week Ibe proceeded with. The board expressed its willingness to hear a proportion of the cost, but decided to confer with representatives of the Hawera Retailers’ Association and the Borough Council before agreeing to any scheme.
