ATTEMPT TO BLOW SAFE
CURTAINS DEADEN EXPLOSION
ONLY SMALL CHANGE SECURED

On entering his premises this morning the head of a leading business firm found an attempt had been made to •blow open a safe, which, however, resisted the efforts, though the lock was badly damaged. Curtains had been torn down and used to deaden the sound of the explosion. An office drawer was searched and small change taken. Early in the week the Terrace End school was broken into, but nothing was taken. Last night the College Street school was unlawfully entered and 5s stolen.
