TRADE WITH WEST INDIES

CHANCE FOR NEW ZEALAND

BUTTER AND CHEESE MARKET

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

WELLINGTON

June 15.

{The statement that New Zealand butter was sought in preference to Canadian butter on the island of St. Vincent in the West Indies was made by Mr. C. Moller. Brisbane, who arrived to-day by the Rotorua, accompanied by his wife and family on their way home after spending two years on the island.

Mr. Moller .said he thought a great deal could be done in reciprocal trade between New Zealand and the West Indies provided trade routes could bo suitably arranged. There was a market in West Indies for cheese, which at present was supplied by Canadian producers, and probably Now Zealand could export jams among other products with profitable results. In return New Zealand could take molasses, saiga'll, spices, rum, arrowroot and bulk chocolate.
