LONDON, June 14
The veteran Frank Longman, winner in j. 928, crashed in the first lap of the Tourist Trophv race at the Isle of Man and was killed. “This will he my last race,” was Longman’s tragic prophesy to his wife, hitherto his mascot in 24 races, who unprecedentedly remained at home with her two children. He continued, but fell again, and finally •smashed into a wall on a lonely road. Ho was found unconscious with liis spine fractured'.
