WELLINGTON, June 15,

Holding that owing to excessive competition and unfair and illegitimate actions by certain taxi drivers men are unable to carry on the taxi business in a legitimate manner, the City Council to-night expressed itself in favour of the fixation of u minimum fare of one stalling per car a mile. Recommendations were adopted from the by-laws committee that steps be taken to this effect through the Municipal Association to ask for the Government to fix a minimum fare of one shilling.
