The weekly euclire party in aid of Hawera railway social hall improvements was held on Wednesday evening, when there was a further large attendance of card players. Ladies’ prizes were won by Miss Marsh, first with 19 games, and Mrs. Wills, second with 17 games. In the men’s section Messrs E. Nixon and J. Davies tied with 15 games each and shared first and second prizes. “'Silent” prizes were won by Mrs. McPhillips and Mr. J. Lyon.
