The general inference is that an intense anti-cyclone developed last night over the Tasman Sea and extends this morning from the eastern part of Australia. to the southern part of New Zealand. The forecast is for moderate to strong southeast to southerly winds and the weather will probably be mainly cold and fine with a frosty night, but some showers at first on high levels. Seas will be rather rough.
